Quotations

 Quotations from reliable and knowledge able sourcas are good supporting details . There are two kinds of quotations: direct and indirect quotations.

Direct quotations

Direct quotations, read the following model and notice how direct quotations are used to support the topic sentence. Notice that a quotations can be a complete sentence (or several sentence) or a short phrase.

Indirect quotations

Indirect quotations, the speaker's or writer's words are reported indirectly, with out quotation Marks a. For this reason, indirect quotations are sometimes called reported speech. Indirect quotations are introduced by the same reporting verbs used for direct quotations, and the word that is often added for clarity.
